Ascot 2017 – What’s going to be in for Ascot 2017
Ascot, ladies day is nearly upon us and we thought we would put together some tips on how to look on trend for Ascot 2017.
Ascot is renowned for tradition, class and elegance, all key phrases to bear in mind when planning your outfit. The races really is an opportunity to go to town, with styles, colours and textures. Fashion is a key part of the experience, so what can we expect for the fabulous finery?
The biggest news for 2017 is that jumpsuits can now be worn within the Royal Enclosures. This is great news, they are comfortable and sophisticated, and with so many now available both designer and on the high street, you will be spoilt for choice. A jumpsuit also looks fantastic with a block heel or a wedge, think comfort, it could be a long day with lots of walking.
We also feel we will be seeing lots of skirt and top combos, with full, below the knee skirts taking the lead, making for an incredibly elegant, soft and feminine look.
As for colour, floral, multi coloured outfits are taking a back step, with strong bold colours coming to the forefront. For a striking look keep to a plain coloured dress or jump suit and bring that second colour in with the clutch bag, shoe and hatinator or fascinator, or why not bringing a mix of two colours in the dress and fascinator. Some colour combinations we are loving are the classic black and white, a very popular choice for race goers, navy and lime green, emerald green and rose gold or white. For some daring choices, royal blue and hot pink, purple and yellow, and yes believe it or not red or orange and pink, if you are going to do it, Ascot is absolutely the place. It’s also on trend to work pastels and brights together, so why not try a hot pink with a pastel pink, subtle, but effective.
As for your hatinator or fascinator, think big, outrageous, and of course stylish. We have included some of our hatinators and fascinators below that we think were made just for Ascot.
We would always advise a large handbag not only to carry all your belonging for the day, but of course to take home all your winnings!!!
However, we can’t stress enough, please remember to check the rules on dress for your enclosure, such as length of dress, size of shoulder straps, size of hat or fascinator base, some enclosures are very strict and nobody would want the embarrassment of being turned away.

The most important thing is to enjoy the experience, take it all in and let’s hope the champagne is flowing and the sun is shining.
