Love Fascinators ……. the colours of 2018
This is now the 3rd blog we at Love Fascinators have written on the colours for the year, and it’s always an exciting time for us, new colours and styles coming through and an insight into the year ahead and how our fascinators and hatinators can not only compliment these colours, but also styles.
What always amazes we is how spot on the fashion industry always are. In 2016 they predicted dusky pink and nude, and floral prints, and boy did we have some floral dresses through our door. Many of which wanted to be matched up with soft nude tones, and mother of the brides in a dusky pink with silver accessories. Last year we saw bolder block colours, jewelled tones such as plums and olive greens, and by far our bestselling fascinators and clutch bags for 2017 was navy.
Now for 2018 there is a return to pastels, so lets picture this, difficult in the middle of winter I appreciate, but I am going to try…..let’s think sun, I appreciate it’s been a while, especially for us here in Mid Wales, but those beach days will soon be upon us, fingers crossed, so I have created a beach theme for the colours of 2018.
Right back to that sun. Meadowlark yellow its bright, joyful and illuminating, great for brunettes with gold Sunkist jewellery.
The sea, sailor and palace blue, finished off with a splash of cherry tomato in accessories, smart and sophisticated, and a great look for the races.
Sandcastle castles…. beautiful warm sand tones are going to be big, especially for mothers of the brides this spring, working warmly with ash rose to soften the look, also working wonderfully with harbour mist.
No beach day would be complete without an ice cream lemon sorbet, pistachio, mint, coconut and peach melba, strong pastels tones particularly popular this year with over sized flowers with outfits mixing these colours, perfect for a summer wedding.
Towards the end of summer we will see more purple tones both in dresses and accessories and this is deemed to be forecast for the “colour of the year”.
Whilst we probably don’t want to think about winter 2018 yet, we are just going to have a sneak peak, lots of polka dot and a beautiful rich spiced apple colour, just gorgeous.
We hope that we have given you a brief insight into the trends we will be seeing this year. Our next blog which will be available in March will take these colours into planning the perfect outfit, matching our beautiful fascinators, hatinators and clutch bags from our 2018 range to create an amazing wedding guest and mother of the bride outfit.
